Re: NSX 6.3.4 Not Ready Preparation Host

You should perform a Host reboot once and give it a try. Just curious to know if are we using a ESXi custom image here? Do you have any host which is not using custom images ?

If you want to give a manual try, firstly check the correct path from

https://NSXIP/bin/vdn/nwfabric.properties  and use the VXLAN link for downloading and installing it on esxi host.

For eg : Below output is fetched from 6.3.1 NSX ->https://NSXIP/bin/vdn/nwfabric.properties

# 5.5 VDN EAM Info

VDN_VIB_PATH.1=/bin/vdn/vibs-6.3.1/5.5-5114250/vxlan.zip

VDN_VIB_VERSION.1=5114250

VDN_HOST_PRODUCT_LINE.1=embeddedEsx

VDN_HOST_VERSION.1=5.5.*

# 6.0 VDN EAM Info

VDN_VIB_PATH.2=/bin/vdn/vibs-6.3.1/6.0-5124744/vxlan.zip

VDN_VIB_VERSION.2=5124744

VDN_HOST_PRODUCT_LINE.2=embeddedEsx

VDN_HOST_VERSION.2=6.0.*

# 6.5 VDN EAM Info

VDN_VIB_PATH.3=/bin/vdn/vibs-6.3.1/6.5-5124743/vxlan.zip

VDN_VIB_VERSION.3=5124743

VDN_HOST_PRODUCT_LINE.3=embeddedEsx

VDN_HOST_VERSION.3=6.5.*

# Single Version associated with all the VIBs pointed by above VDN_VIB_PATH(s)

VDN_VIB_VERSION=6.3.1.5124716

# Legacy vib location. Used by code to discover avaialble legacy vibs.

LEGACY_VDN_VIB_PATH_FS=/common/em/components/vdn/vibs/legacy/

LEGACY_VDN_VIB_PATH_WEB_ROOT=/bin/vdn/vibs/legacy/

Assuming we are trying for 6.5 -> right link would be  https://nsxip/bin/vdn/vibs-6.3.1/6.5-5124743/vxlan.zip . You may copy the zip file and one of the ESXI host and install the VIB.

I think the only other special parameters when scheduling a task are __username and __password

Also, there are few other __ values that can be used in OGNL expressions (they should be listed in developers guide).

You can synchronize date/time from each NTP server you want. Note however, that this should not be a virtual machine which is running on the ESXi host, as this may cause issues.

Alos note that NTP doesn't handle time zones, i.e. works with UTC time.

Re: ESXi6.5 U1 unable to set Date,Time and Timezone by manually or NTP Server

Now my problem is ->

I found that Time & date have two setting "Manually configure the date and time on this host" and "Use Network Time Protocol(enable NTP client)".

if I change current correct time at "Manually configure the date and time on this host", I found date & time are incorrect by checking "date" esxcli command. HW clock and system time are incorrect.

If I also change current correct time  "HW clock and system time" by using command "esxcli system time set",I found HW clock and system time are correct. But I found time is incorrect at "Manually configure the date and time on this host". I found guest OS use synchronizing time from this "Manually configure the date and time on this host".

Is this time zone problem? Could I change Time zone (UTC+06:30) Yangon(Rangoon) by esxcli command?

Hi Daphnissov,

Thanks for your quick response .

I Tried all possible ways but no luck. Boot order is cd-dvd / removable disk / HDD / n/w boot

We are using OVM ( Oracle Virtual manager ) to change the individual VM bios option like bios.bootDeviceClasses = "allow:hd,net" to bios.bootDeviceClasses = "allow:hd,cd"  under    [vm name].vmx file but no luck .

Please let me know is there any other possibilities we have to fix this issue.

Thanks In advance

Hello. I signed up for the VMware website. I signed up and had to activate my account via a message received from vmware. When I tried to activate the account and logged in, the following error appears. I do not know how to solve it.

PS. I am not able to log in to VMware and therefore can not use  technical vmware support . If I put a topic in the wrong section then I'm sorry.

Did some further testing, and it does seem to be possible after all.

Looks like the stackname is case-sensitive and needs to be in lowercase.
And yes, you can assign the vmk number out of sequence.

$esxName='esx1.local.lab'

$vssName='vSwitch2'

$pgName='NewPG'

$stackName='vmotion'

$vmkName='vmk7'

$vmkIp='192.168.1.111'

$vmkMask='255.255.255.0'

$vmkGW='192.168.1.254'

$esx=Get-VMHost-Name$esxName

$esxcli=Get-EsxCli-VMHost$esx

$vss=$esxcli.network.vswitch.standard.list() |where{$_.Name -eq$vssName}

if(!($esxcli.network.vswitch.standard.portgroup.list() |where{$_.Name -eq$pgName})){

    $esxcli.network.vswitch.standard.portgroup.add($pgName,$vss.Name)

}

$esxcli.network.ip.interface.add($null,$null,$vmkName,$null,1500,$stackName,$pgName)

$esxcli.network.ip.interface.ipv4.set($vmkGW,$vmkName,$vmkIp,$vmkMask,$null,'static')

VMware Fusion 10 Pro preferences has crtl-click as right-mouse-click disabled, but Fusion 10 Pro still does a right mouse click! Ugly after an upgrade from Fusion 8. Any ideas? Maybe 10 just isn't quite ready for prime-time Wishing that I could go backwards now, but I already spent the money. Picture to prove it:

VMWare Fusion 8.5.8 で windows 10 Pro を利用しています。

割り当てたボリュームが不足してきたので、100GB→120GBに変更しようとしたところ、

windowsのディスク管理でボリュームの拡張が選択できない状況です。

なお、スナップショットない状態で確認しています。

何か解決する手順はございますでしょうか。

ご教授いただければ幸いです。

念のため、操作時のスクショを合わせて↓に載せておきます。

Does The "CD-ROM drive" option show up in the Boot menu?

To get to the boot menu, set the "Power On Boot Delay" in the VM's boot options (see your screenshot) to e.g. 5000 ms, and then press the ESC key once after powering on the VM, and while the boot delay counts down.

Hi,

It almost looks like the server you're working on does not have any DNS servers configured, as the error says that it can't resolve us.archive.ubuntu.com. I'd check DNS functionality.
