This is so normal. You probably didn't create a raid. Would you try again after creating Raid?

Re: ESX Host Freezes Randomly

Which ESXi host is usually caused by the storage connection. In cases such as APD or PDL on ESXi host, ESXi host can be locked. You cannot log in to the console or via the web gui. Check out the Task event section? Do you see warnings like Lost access volume here?

Also, what is the hardware brand model? Didn't you use ESXi custom ISO?

You are having a problem accessing the disks. This may be a driver or firmware problem or a defective part. What is Hardware's brand model? Did you install with Custom ESXi ISO?

You can receive these kinds of alerts when vMotion networks cannot talk to each other. Is vMotion network separate? If separate, can you check the management network vMotion and try again?

Paid for versus free VMware 6.5 / 6.7 / 7.0

We have used free ESXi for years and are now at version 6.5. We have a paid for version of Workstation which we sometimes use for managing our virtual machines alongside the web interface.

The two boxes that we use are in fine condition and we note that we cannot move up to free v6.7 as the processes are excluded in that update.

https://communities.vmware.com/thread/595097

We note also that the updates in 6.7 are largely about vSphere although there are obviously some improvements in the underlying infrastructure

In particular one of our bugbears is managing iSCSI and this seems to have been improved in version 6.7.

So my question is if we buy a paid for version of vSphere - say VMware vSphere Essentials Kit - does this do away with the hardware limitation?

/data/vco/usr/lib/vco/app-server/conf/krb5.conf

Then restart your vRO pod:

kubectl -n prelude delete pod vco-app-<id>

Re: Upgrade from 6.7 to 7.0 and unsupported hardware

For anyone else going down this road, here's where I ended up....

I ran the ESXi 7.0 upgrade via iso, ignored the 'unsupported hardware' warning, and the install completed successfully.

After logging into ESXi, all my VMs had started successfully... expect one. My FreeNAS VM had not started, and had a vague error about a PCI device. Clearly the passthrough HBA was not working.

I went to Host/Manage/Hardware and the HBA was showing up with the correct name. However, its passthrough setting had been switched to inactive. I toggled it to active, but there was an error in addition to the usual "Reboot required" message. I figured it didn't work, but I tried rebooting anyway. After reboot, the device now showed as passthrough active. Promising!

I then tried to start the FreeNAS VM, but no luck - another error. I found a support article for this one, and it said when this happens to remove and re-add the device. I tried that, and the VM booted and worked no problem!

So, a bit of a bumpy road, but success, ESXi 7.0 is now running great!

Thanks for your help

Re: VSAN Strectched Cluster - Host Isolation not working / Inaccessible VM

Hi,

Are you sure to define IP from Site A and Site B when specifying isolation address "vSphere HA - Advanced Settings"?

VMware recommends specifying two additional isolation response addresses, and each of these addresses should be site-specific. In other words, select an isolation response IP address from the Preferred Site and another isolation response IP address from the Non-Preferred Site. The vSphere HA advanced setting used for setting the first isolation response IP address is das.isolationaddress0 and it should be set to an IP address on the vSAN network which resides on the one site. The vSphere HA advanced setting used for adding a second isolation response IP address is das.isolationaddress1 and this should be an IP address on the vSAN network that resides on the alternate site.

Thanks.

Hi,

VMWare "about" window says:

iOS SDK Xcode 11.4 Swift 5.2 libraries...

The enterprise updated the iPhones to 13.4, hence that started the chain reaction of updating the Macs, and then Xcode to continue development.  Unfortunately made the mistake of not checking dependency minimum requirements and currently the AWSDK won't compile because it is not ready for Swift 5.2 and Xcode 11.4.  Is there a release date?  Will you be able to enable "Build Libraries for Distribution" in the future so that it is no longer an issue.  thank you

O Windows ME já não é suportado a bastante tempo.

No link abaixo vc pode observar que a ultima versão suportada foi o Workstation 9.

VMware Compatibility Guide - Guest/Host Search

Voce realmente precisa usar o Windows ME, fiquei até curioso para saber qual a necessadade já que é um SO MUITO antigo.
