Before you attempted to change from a Workgroup to joining a Domain did you have basic Internet/Network Connectivity and is the Guest's Network Adapter set to Bridged?  I'm asking because if you did then this issue is not really a VMware issue per se and you should do exactly what the error message says and that to "notify the administrator that you received this information" and if by chance you're the Network Administrator then You're Fired! Clik here to view.  Okay, just joking about the "You're Fired" part however since your trying to join an Enterprise Corporate Domain (IBM no less!) I'd suggest you work with IBM Tech Support to resolve this issue.
