Paul Harris created HHQ-5760:
-
Summary: Duplicate and flawed error message when creating incomplete alert condition
Key: HHQ-5760
URL: https://jira.hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-5760
Project: Hyperic HQ
Issue Type: Bug
Environment: RH5/64
Reporter: Paul Harris
Assignee: Mayan Weiss
Start to create a new alert condition based on %age of a baseline value.
Choose, the metric, but leave other fields blank.
Click OK
The following error is displayed at the top of the screen:
"Percentage must contain only numeric data and decimal points (i.e. -- 12.34).Percentage must contain only numeric data and decimal points (i.e. -- 12.34).You must select a baseline option along with the percentage. You must select a baseline option along with the percentage."
And the following is shown next to the fields in error:
"- Percentage must contain only numeric data and decimal points (i.e. -- 12.34).Percentage must contain only numeric data and decimal points (i.e. -- 12.34).
- You must select a baseline option along with the percentage. You must select a baseline option along with the percentage."
a) The error message is shown four times, when it should only be shown once, or possibly twice.
b) The error uses "i.e." when it should be "e.g." - i.e. specifies a particular value, so as written it's saying that my value must be 12.34, when many other values (e.g. 23.45) are valid
