I am not that familiar with vBlock but do understand that it is a VCE appliance the combines the technologies of VMware vSphere with Cisco High End Switching and EMC storage. I am with a company that is engaged in vBlock but with vSphere 4 infrastructure. We are a new team brought together to bolster the company virtual infrastructure into Cloud Technology.
Since I am more familiar with Enterprise vSphere 4 hearing a coworker tell us that it is no longer a problem to dynamically increase a virtual system drive. In my day, to increase a virtual system drive took either the command line vmkfstools or the use of another VM. So, to be told that with vBlock, the system drive of a VM can not be increased dynamically is pretty dramatic news.
However, my discussions with my coworker in the past has also yielded some inconsistencies and I wanted to confirm that this is true. If so, how is this possible?
I'd like to learn a bit more about this and vBlock. Can anyone assist?
