Can fusion be loaded into it's own hdd inside my mac pro?

I have had version 3.x for a while now. Two weeks ago, my MacPro froze and the tech guys determined that the partition between fusion and my OS 10.7.x. They had to strip the primary HDD, reformatted, and reloaded my Lion without fusion on. My question is: Can I get a new, empty, formatted HDD into my MacPro and load the fusion there by itself? Can I get the fusion to show up on the dock ok?
